When Did This Organization Found?
Fleece & Thank You, based in Farmington Hills, was founded in 2015 By Kristock who offers blankets to children in hospitals all around Michigan, including Macomb County. The organization was founded in 2015 after Kristock as it is a charity-based program that people became aware of the scarcity of blankets, which are essential for sick children.
He said that he meet with Sophie, four years old an incredible child, at the time and she was battling cancer. Sophie was taking trips to the hospital to combat one of the toughest forms of juvenile cancer at a period in her life when she should have been playing with dolls and making new friends.
Despite the numerous rounds of rigorous chemotherapy treatments and multiple overnight stays in the hospital, Kristock always had a radiant smile on her face whenever he saw her.
He received a text message from his twin sister, a pediatric cancer nurse at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, asking for a favor while coming home to Michigan that same year.
She recommended making a blanket for a kid in the hospital when you have some free time, he added. “I asked more questions since I’m an aggressively curious person.” ‘How many blankets are you going to need?’ ‘How frequently do you require them?’
She reacted by adding that blankets are always needed, as they drastically alter the hospital environment. then he wondered if one of the top children’s hospitals in the country couldn’t provide enough of something they required, he called every other department at her hospital and received the same responses. He next phoned every Michigan hospital that serviced children under the age of 18 and received the same responses.
This is the time when Fleece & Thank You was born, and children became happy after this organization was born where they get free blankets kits.
